The Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI) is an institution dedicated to research in mathematics, and in theoretical physics. It is located in Allahabad, India, and is funded by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

  • HRI Ph.D Programme in Mathematics. Interview will be held on 24th and 25th April, 2014 at HRI, Allahabad. Click here to see the list of cadidates who have qualified for the interview.

  • HRI Ph.D Programme in Mathematics (2nd round). The 2nd round of Mathematics interview at HRI will be held on 12th and 13th June, 2014. Students who have qualified the NET examinations held during 2013 (i.e. either June 2013 or December 2013) and have become eligible for a CSIR - UGC JRF fellowship in Mathematics, with rank within 75, are also eligible to attend the interview for the admission to the Ph.D programs in Mathematics at HRI. CSIR-UGC JRF qualified candidates are requested to apply by email to (mathjest [AT] hri.res.in) mentioning their NET Roll Numbers and send us the scan copy of the mark-sheets.

  • Prof Rajesh Gopakumar of the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, India, has been awarded the 23rd G.D. Birla Award for Scientific Research for the year 2013.

  • Prof Raj Gandhi has received the "Intensity Frontier Fellowship" of Fermilab, USA.

  • Dr Aditi Sen De of the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, India, has been awarded the Buti Foundation Award of Indian Physics Association for the year 2013.
