In continuation with last academic year my research acitivity centered
around norms of exponential sums and certain spacing problems associated
to phase functions of exponential sums. I expect to be able to apply
my studies on the latter topic to improving certain estimates for
exponential sums.

Delivered lectures in the Number Theory Seminar at H.R.I. on
various topics including the circle problem and the circle method.
Academic visits :
I attended the International Congress of Mathematicians in Beijing,
China in August, 2002.
