Air travel
The nearest major international airport is Delhi. From Delhi you can take a flight to either Varanasi or Allahabad. Most major domestic airlines have direct flights connecting Delhi and Varanasi. Check Cleartrip or Yatra for details. Indian operates daily flights (except Sundays) between Delhi and Allahabad. Check their websites for further details.

Allahabad is on the main train route connecting Delhi and Kolkata (Calcutta). Therefore, there are many trains from these two cities to Allahabad. The most convenient train from New Delhi to Allahabad is the Prayagraj Express . It starts from New Delhi Railway Station at 9:30 p.m. and reaches Allahabad at 6:30 a.m. next morning. The HRI help page on train travel may be useful. The Indian Railways page will give more details.

We recommend international delegates to fly to Varanasi, and
Indian delegates/participants to either fly to Varanasi or to take a train to Allahabad Junction.

Please note that Allahabad has a very small airport with no night-landing facilities. Hence flight disruptions during bad weather or poor visility are more likely.

But if you arrive at any of these places-- Varanasi Airport, Allahabad Airport and Allahabad Jn Railway Station we will arrange your pick up.

The HRI page also has information on travel by bus .

If your travel requires you to sepnd a night in Delhi, there are any number of hotels available. The Centaur is within the airport area. Radisson is also quite close to the airport. There are a number of local hotels near the Radisson. You can search the internet for more options.
