The Condensed Matter Physics Group at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute is organising a school on topological quantum matter, also being supported by SFB/TR 12 “Symmetries and Universality in Mesoscopic Systems” of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The school will be held in Allahabad from 9 to 21 February 2015.
The last couple of decades have seen a tremendous increase in the use of topological concepts in condensed matter physics. In this school, we intend to focus on the basic ideas in the field of topological matter and its connection to quantum information theory. The school is geared towards graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and faculty members who wish to initiate research in this field. The students are expected to have basic knowledge of condensed matter physics including topics like quantum Hall physics and second quantisation.
Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty members from all countries may apply. The registration will only be through the online application that will be put up in August 2014. There is no registration fee. All participants are required to register for the entire duration of the school. All selected participants will be provided accomodation and paid to and fro rail fare for travel within the country as per Govt. rules (II/III AC fare for students, II AC for post doctoral fellows and I AC for faculty members). There will be poster presentation sessions during the school. More details will be announced soon.
The duration of the school will be from 9 to 21 February 2015.
Online application will start in August 2014.
The list of selected candidates will be put up on this website by November 2014.
