String Group Activities

String theory at HRI is an active environment and we have regular meetings.

The Centre for String Interactions will be organising a Workshop on Black Hole Information Paradox from February 3 to 6, 2014.

We organise a group lunch, popularly known as String Lunch every Monday at 12-30 pm on the first floor discussion room at our guest house. The idea is to discuss various new papers of the week over lunch. The guest house food is sort of like an extra incentive.

We also have a weekly Journal Club Seminar . This is usually held on Tuesdays at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The norm is to discuss new work of the group members during these meetings. The visitors are also usually slotted for this time. The seminars are supposed to last for an hour. But if you are new to the place, let us warn you that usually the talks go on till either the speaker or the audience cannot take in anymore! You can easily be spending a couple of hours inside the seminar room!

A list of the upcoming String Talks can be found on the Institute home page. The Journal Club link takes you to the page where all the week's talks are listed.
