WOMEN IN PHYSICS

I have been involved in issues of women in physics since 2000, when I was asked by the IUPAP subgroup on women in physics to conduct a survey of 30 women in physics in India. Since the choice of respondents was informal and most were personally known to me, the statistics wasn't quite representative, but it was still interesting. Many of us started with the perception that there was no serious gender bias in the profession, but our perception changed with time, with our own thinking as well as understanding global professionally collected data.
I list here some of my own articles and also some co-authored with other women scientists of India.

  • A talk that I gave in Lucknow in 1998 (organised by NASI) on the question of   'Women in Science'   - a topic clearly close to my heart!
