The nearest, well-connected, international airport to Allahabad is Delhi. The closer, Varanasi airport has few international flights.
Arriving to Allahabad
By air
There is just a single flight to and from Allahabad, and the flight is only from and to Delhi. The flight is operated by Air India, and is on all days other than Sundays.
The other, and more convenient, option will be to fly to Varanasi and drive to Allahabad. The drive takes about three hours. It is fairly smooth, and costs about Rs. 1500. Air India, Kingfisher Airlines, Spice Jet and Jet Airways, all have daily flights to and from Varanasi.
By train
Allahabad is well connected by trains to all the major cities in India. There are many trains everyday between Allahabad and Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Please note that you need to arrive at Allahabad Junction (ALD).
A popular train between Delhi and Allahabad is the Prayag Raj Express. It leaves New Delhi station (usually from platform 12 on the Ajmeri gate side) everynight at 21:25 and arrives at Allahabad the next morning at 06:45. The train leaves Allahabad everynight at 21:30 and reaches New Delhi in the morning at 06:55.
Arriving to HRI
We will be arranging for a car to pick you up from Allahabad Junction Railway Station (ALD). Please take the exit on the Platform 1 (City Side) and look for a person with the "HRI" placard.
