Candidates having an externally funded fellowship can join HRI only if (s)he meets the criteria for being selected as a regular Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF). Thus every candidate who wishes to work at HRI as a PDF needs to go through the same selection procedure.

Candidates seeking endorsement from an HRI faculty, to apply for externally funded fellowships, need to apply well in advance (as soon as the call for the said fellowship is announced) to HRI. The process for application is the same as the one for regular post doctoral position at HRI. The applicant will be called for an online (half an hour) talk followed by discussion. The endorsement will be done, only for the successful applicants.
