Centre for String Interactions

Activities organised by the Centre

The Centre for String Interactions at HRI provides an active environment which promotes interaction among its members. Offices of the students and most of the post-doctoral fellows are located in the "String Area" which has a discussion room and a lecture hall.

The Centre will be organising a school followed by a discussion meeting on "String Field Theory and String Phenomenology" from February 5 to 15, 2018.

We organise a lunch meeting or evening snacks meeting, popularly known as String Lunch or String Snacks every Wednesday at 1:00 pm or 4:00PM on the first floor discussion room at our guest house. The idea is to discuss various new papers of the week.

We also have a weekly Journal Club/Seminar. This is usually held on Tuesdays at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The norm is to discuss new work of the group members during these meetings. The visitors are also usually slotted for this time. The seminars are supposed to last at least for an hour. If you are new to the place, let us warn you that usually the talks go on till either the speaker or the audience cannot take in anymore! You can easily be spending more than a couple of hours inside the seminar room and it could happen that the remaining part of the seminar is held a day or two later.
